Volta's technology, translated
We created a distinctive visual style and a technology-first website to explain Volta’s structural battery and its applications, using animation to make “how Volta’s battery work” instantly understandable.
Visual style • Website UX/UI • Tech animation
“Somaspace defiantly contributed to build credibility. We have been selected for a launch opportunity against strong and more established competitor.” Francesco Loper, COO and Co-Founder
Volta’s challenge
Structural batteries offer significant performance advantages, but their value is often difficult to communicate quickly to a mixed audience of founders, engineers, and commercial stakeholders. Volta needed a digital experience that clearly explains the technology, demonstrates practical integration use cases (such as CubeSats), and provides credible evidence of safety and feasibility.
What we delivered
- A clear and recognizable visual style aligned with the nature of the technology
- A website structure focused on explaining the core technology and product
- Straightforward messaging that links the technology to tangible benefits (volume, mass, power)
- Simple animations to show how the product is built and how it integrates (e.g. from satellite panels to batteries)
- Dedicated sections on applications and use cases to support and speed up sales discussions
Our approach
Understand → Believe → Apply
- Understand: reduce cognitive load through clear structure and straightforward language
- Believe: strengthen credibility with concrete technical elements, safety references, and verifiable proof points
- Apply: present real integration examples to help prospects understand how the solution fits into their own systems
Results
A market-ready web presence that clearly explains Volta’s technology, making it easier to communicate in pitches, quicker to assess during initial discussions, and more concrete to evaluate within real satellite applications.
